Hopes are high that enough has been done to secure Boston’s gold in-bloom award, but it’s not too late for you to help.
The judges from East Midlands in Bloom will tour the town on Tuesday, July 11, and an appeal has been made for a last-minute tidy up before then.
Alison Fairman, chairman of Boston in Bloom, appealed for everyone to make a big effort to present the town at its best in time for the judging.
She said: “Businesses have worked very hard this year and the town is already looking fabulous.”
Residents and businesses with properties on the judging route are asked to make sure their frontages are clean and tidy and clear of litter. Any splash of colour from a hanging basket or tub will be appreciated.
The judges will tour from Witham Way Country Park via Red Cap Lane, Horncastle Road and Wide Bargate and Tawney Street to Central Park and then via Wide Bargate, Pescod Square, Strait Bargate, the Stump grounds, the B&M open space, Church Lane, Market Place, Haven Bridge, Pilgrims’ Patch and Beadsmans Lane before finishing at Fydell House.
Cllr Claire Rylott, Boston Borough Council’s portfolio holder for grounds and open spaces, said: “I want to thank everyone who is supporting Boston in Bloom. It is a fantastic group to work with and great for our town. Now let’s all make this final push and go for gold again.”
